Triton Security are pleased to announce May’s Security Office of the Month is Abdi Shaafi.
Every month it is a hard decision because we basically have outstanding guards, however this month it was made a lot easier when First Buses UK Security Manager, Gerry Cronin, forwarded us the below note, he had received from one of his colleagues, regarding Abdi.
‘’I attended the closed Bury Depot today and I want to point out how impressed I was with the Security Guard on duty.
His name was Abdi Shaafi. When I arrived, I introduced myself and showed him my identity badge and I was wearing my high vis jacket. He was very polite throughout the conversation, he challenged me and stuck by his guns and told me he couldn’t allow me to enter as he didn’t know me. When I challenged him back on several occasions, he still insisted on not allowing me in, he made several telephone calls then politely requested that I ring the Triton Enquiry Line.
I was about to do this when a colleague who he knew turned up vouched for me and only then did he allow me access.
At all stages he remained calm and polite, I would rather be challenged in this manner than not at all, it was great to see that he conducted his role in a totally professional way. He was a credit to the company that he works for and I would like his superiors to know how impressed I was.
The professionalism continued throughout my visit, every question I asked him, he remained polite and calm and even showed me the Patrol Logs which were clear and up to date.”
Congratulations Abdi, keep up the excellent work!
