Since the pandemic, many companies have chosen to adapt to new ways of working including phased return to offices, hybrid, remote and flexible working opportunities.
Flexible working has, in some cases, become a non-negotiable to jobseekers, with many businesses choosing to operate a hybrid model. As a result, this has changed the facilities management industry as we once knew it.
At Triton Security, we have been monitoring the changes in our clients working patterns to ensure that the appropriate level of security and protection for both employees and businesses is considered and implemented effectively.
You would be mistaken if you thought that flexible working meant less occupancy, therefore less need for facilities management and maintenance.
With the usual 9 – 5 out of the window, flexible working means there may be less people in the office at the same time and smaller maintenance problems could go unnoticed. To make sure you stay on top of maintenance issues, it is beneficial to be partnered with a facilities management team who can regularly check the property. Find out more about Triton’s Facilities Management offering here.
Another thing to consider with the increase in flexible working is the increased need for security. With people coming and going at various hours, offices can be open for long hours, sometimes unoccupied. As a result, it is important to consider investment in security such as CCTV systems or manned guarding / concierge.

Given the nature of Joseph Gallaher’s work, it was imperative they had substantial security on their site.
